Embellished Miniature Machine Applique with Pat Holly

For years, Pat has been using her sewing machine for more than just applique and quilting. Explore the possibilities of your machine’s decorative (and utility) stitches. Learn how to prepare the fabric, test stitches, try out various threads and, best of all, play with your machine! Once you have made your embellished fabric, use it to create a mini-postcard picture. Pat has developed specific skills while making her award-winning miniature machine appliqued quilts. She will share tips for preparing and stitching tiny applique shapes using the raw edge fusible, and blanket stitch. Use a simple bird pattern (or choose a more complicated one) to make a 4 x 6” postcard picture incorporating these tips.
